In addition; my perception of the Mellisch incident is as follows; as the two fought upstairs, the soldier down below realized he could never summons the courage to fight. Not even to save a brother. As the German walked by he summized that. So in the end it was a case of,”A coward dies a thousand deaths, a Hero but one.”
